Oh wow I got to go today to the Simulcast of Beth Moore for her new book on Insecurity! It was so good. I had a million things to do at the house today and almost felt guilty for going but I just put my to do list aside and got up early and headed to Lubbock - and at the start Beth said if you are here it is because God wanted you here - and I can tell you what I learned today I pray will sink in and help me to be a better Christian and those that know me will begin to see a change!
I got to go with my Mom and sister in law and we had such a great day. I just love them and I am so thankful for my family.
First thing this morning this is what the reading for today was in my "Breaking Free" day by day book - this is straight out of the book:
I am the Lord God, who teaches you for your benefit, who leads you in the way you should go. Isaiah 48:17
We hopefully will be able to discover a few reasons why we are so reluctant to submit to God's authority, but we must remember that bending the knee is ultimately a matter of pure obedience.
As I said, I finally had to turn some of the hurts of my childhood over to God's sovereign authority because I realized they would consume me like a cancer. If you have not yet bowed the knee to God's authority over areas of your past, something is holding you captive. You can have the peace of Christ no matter what your circumstances, but you must believe, bend the knee, and learn to receive.
this was straight out of the Beth Moore little day by day book and I thought it fit perfectly with what I learned today - God is so good. One point that just nailed me was
Life is hard - if a heart doesn't heal it will become hard
I know it is not for me to become secure in myself - but to know and believe that God loves me, God has forgiven me, and God is with me.
