Psalm 139

I just love when God has something that He wants to open my eyes to...it is like one gift after the other in His Word. In our Bible Study last night we are watching Beth Moore, Living Beyond Yourself. We learned 3 concepts that the Holy Spirit can develop within us: 1) Perception, 2) Discernment, 3) Insight. In trying to let the concept sink in to my pea size brain - I know that if I do not have a humble heart, and a mind of Christ I will not have eyes to see, ears to hear, or mind to conceive, the plans God has for me. 1 Cor. 2:9-10. With that thought in mind -

Psalm 139
1 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.
5
You hem me in—behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,"
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

I love how the vs. - You hem me in-behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.

Thus the picture of the baseball - the seam completely around the ball, never ending, being held in a hand. I am like the ball, God has hemmed me in....He has me in His hand. God created me, God will never leave me and no matter what the days ahead hold for me, when I awake - God is still with me. He knows my anxious thoughts....but He will lead me in His way. I am going to have to remind myself many times that I am not in the driver seat, and God doesn't need a back seat driver either! ouch

From this scripture it just reinforced the 3 ways of developing the Spirit within us.

Amen to vs. 17 - How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!

In Him, Paige

Why Christ is my Passion

The more I seek Christ in my walk, the more I find Him -
Psalm 18:1-2
I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
thank u Jesus
