I am still teaching the 5 yr old class on Sunday mornings - I am so thankful that I get to be blessed with watching these little ones soak up God's Bible stories - today was Zacchaeus the "wee" little man. I let them act out most of the stories and take turns with the different characters. I love to watch them play the part, but mostly to see them taking it in. I can only hope that the most important part that they remember is the Love of Jesus - everything Jesus does is out of love for others.
Tonight's service was the young men doing the service - I love to hear the little guys get up and say the sweetest most pure prayers - to lead us in songs - to read scriptures - and some who give talks. I was so proud of Bo Franklin tonight - he got up and had to tell his favorite Bible story and he chose Noah and the Ark - he told the story of Noah and how he didn't get tired and give up - at the end he admitted that he had got in to trouble last week and he said that this Bible story helped encourage him to know of God's love and he needed to obey just like Noah obeyed God. Precious - then he went straight into leading the song "Holy Ground"
Treg gave a talk on God as our deliverer - he was so excited and did a great job - I am so proud of him and how he is allowing God to lead him in his walk with Christ.
We have a young man that is on a walker and has special needs - we waited while he struggled to get up from the pew, get his walker and slowly make it down the isle - Eric helped hold the song book and Chris lead us in the song "Faithful Love" - I sat there and was overcome with emotions - how precious this young boy that was born with some tough handicaps - but he proudly stood before the congregation and sang out so sweetly faithful love. I was so touched - Jesus said let the little children come to me - Jesus Loves children - and I believe He had a very special place in His heart for them - I have to agree so do I - they are just so precious!
Thank you for the gift of children -
