What do I know of Holy?

As you might can tell by now, I love Christian music. I have a song I just can't get out of my head. I went to our ladies Wednesday night class and Kasity (she is so pure & precious to me) talked about Moses in Exodus 33. I came home and read it in my Bible, read all my notes I had about it and it just keeps coming back to me....so here goes.
18 Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory."
19 And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 20 But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."
21 Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen."
You might think that I am weird, but how I would love to have been Moses. To have the kind of relationship that he had with God, Yahweh....to be "in" God's presence. I have to stop and just love this. Moses was a friend of God. He got to see God in a burning bush, his staff turn into a snake, he got to see the plagues, the sea parting, the 10 commandments x2, and ect. I also know that Moses was human and he made mistakes, but to have this relationship with God intrigues me.
After reading the scripture and meditating on this, I asked Greg just exactly what is a cleft in the rock? I have heard it all my life and sang songs about it but hadn't really thought about it. He & Treg told me, and of course I googled it and found lots of pics on it. Ok ...look at the picture above and just imagine.... God telling you go and stand on a rock. God said, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Oh my...how do you imagine that feeling, this gives such a new meaning to the song, "This is Holy Ground I'm standing on Holy Ground...all your senses would be in overload...then when God passes by He will remove His hand and Moses got to see His back. My notes went along with what Kasity brought up...we may be going through a dark time, but we have to know God is with us - His hand is just covering us, then when we go through our trial....we will see God more clearly and understand - He was there with us the whole time, even if we think we can't see God - we are just being placed in the cleft (standing on a rock) but His Presence is there with us. I love Moses boldly asking, "Now, show me your glory." We have to want to seek God always. I also love how God boldly tells Moses, I (not you) will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and compassion on whom I will have compassion. God is God no matter how close we ever think we are to Him...I had written by the part in vs. 22 about God passed by - that God passed thru cut covenant between rock - Moses. I am not sure if I understand this part exactly, but...I was excited because tomorrow night we start the new Kay Arthur Bible Study - Covenant. I hope that we will learn more of God's covenant. I know if we seek Him with all our hearts....He will help me to grow closer to Him and I want my eyes and mind to be open to His Ways. I heard a devo this past weekend of God is like a mirror and if we look into it..... if we look to God, we will reflect His glory (and we won't have to wear a veil)! All this said, I just love the new song from Addison Road, What do I know of Holy? Please take time to watch this - it's so good. I loved the part of the song that she sang about creation, spoke it into motion and all creation knows God's name. How many times in my prayer life do I try to get a Word from heaven and I talk the whole time???? Help me Lord to learn to Be Still.... and know God. It got me the part with a picture of the Bible and saying I know all the stories and all the right words, but they are just empty words...then to catch a glimpse of God. How many times during the day do I miss God's touch? God is so Holy, so full of Glory, thank you sweet Jesus for letting me seek you with all my heart and I pray that from down on my knees I will catch a glimpse of your glory!

BTW - your little Kindergarten girls will always remember that lesson. How I wish I could rewind 25 years and place myself in that class. How might things have been different? Thank you for planting the seed in the hearts. Bless you Ms. Paige! You inspire me!

Why Christ is my Passion

The more I seek Christ in my walk, the more I find Him -
Psalm 18:1-2
I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
thank u Jesus
